Prognostic value of dipyridamole thallium imaging after acute myocardial infarction in older patients
Article Abstract:
Researchers conducted a study to examine the usefulness of intravenous dipyridamole thallium testing for prediction of major cardiac events after acute myocardial infarction in older people. Their study revealed that intravenous dipyridamole thallium imaging provides prognostic information that is independent. Furthermore, a combination of clinical, echocardiographic, and dipyridamole thallium variables arranges older postinfarction patients into groups of high, intermediate, and low-risk groups.

Integration of geriatrics into cardiology fellowship training programs: A joint position paper form the American Geriatrics Society and te Society of Geriatric Cardiology
Article Abstract:
The Society of Geriatric Cardiology and the American Geriatrics Society have advocated increasing the integration of geriatric principles into cardiology training programs. They also suggest the development of formal geriatric cardiology as part of the cardiology fellowship training, especially due to the increasing numbers of older cardiac patients and their impact on society.

Management and outcome of acute myocardial infarction in older patients in the Thrombolytic Era
Article Abstract:
Researchers conducted a study to determine the proportion of unselected hospital admissions of older patients with Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and to examine management and outcomes of AMI in the group. The study revealed that patients who are more than 75 years old constitute one-third of all AMI patients and have a poor prognosis.
