The concurrent use of anticholinergics and cholinesterase inhibitors: Rare event or common practice?

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to measure the prevalence of anticholinergic use cross-sectionally in patients receiving cholinesterase inhibitors. Its second objective is to compare rates of anticholinergic use before and after the inception of cholinesterase inhibitor treatment and examine whether anticholinergic drugs were discontinued upon cholinesterase inhibitor inception.

Catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors in Parkinson's disease

Article Abstract:

Catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors are a new option for treating those with Parkinson's disease. They act by increasing the time over which levodopa is active. Case histories of those with a fluctuating response to levodpopa are included with emphasis on appropriate use of COMT inhibitors for these situations.

Drop attacks revisited: yet another manifestation of cardiovascular disease?

Article Abstract:

A review of drop attacks as a means for diagnosing cardiovascular disease is presented. Drop attacks or falls is a terminology used to describe sudden collapse in full consciousness accompanied with difficulty in getting up but without any circulation problems.
