This article examines the new generation of children who are the products of the counter-culture. The author, referring to herself as a hippy who was the matriarch of a hippy tribe, maintains children today are missing out on childhood due to video games, too much television, and not enough outdoor space.

The experience of job transition in mid-to-late working life is discussed as a foundation to retirement and working beyond normal retirement ages. The different reasons for changing a job and deciding to work after retirement are highlighted.
