How shared are age-related influences on cognitive and noncognitive variables?
Article Abstract:
Results show that the age does affect across the cognitive, sensory, and physiological factors in aged individuals as indicated by a decline in the task processing speed. Data point out that no single mechanism can explain all age-related cognitive declines.

The psychological refractory period: evidence for age differences in attentional time-sharing
Article Abstract:
Two experiments involving psychological refractory periods (PRP) were performed to assess the abilities of younger and older adults in conducting two different patterns of task performance. The theories of graded capacity-sharing or time sharing and bottleneck response selection were utilized in the performance assessment. Results proved the viability of the response selection bottleneck and the age differences in attentional time-sharing.

A molar entropy model of age differences in spatial memory
Article Abstract:
A new study develops and tests a molar model of spatial memory and its relation to aging. The investigation uses a graphics character as the target stimulus and involves very-short-term memory and spatial scanning processes. It is shown that older adults exhibit higher levels of entropy than younger adults. Details of the study are presented.
