Treatment of uncorrected refractive error improves vision-specific quality of life
Article Abstract:
Eyeglasses and magnifiers may be used in treatment of uncorrected refractive errors in patients above the age of 65. It alters vision-specific functioning as measured using the 25-item National Eye Institute-Visual Functioning Questionnaire (NEI-VFQ). Patients who used eye glasses immediately after the test saw improvement in NEI-VFQ composite scores (P<.01), distance visual acuity (P=.03), near visual acuity (P=.04).
