Value of exercise capacity and heart rate recovery in older people

Article Abstract:

Impaired functional capacity and heart rate recovery are independent predictors of death in older people, based on recent research. A prospective study with mean 3.7 years follow-up was carried out to evaluate the prognostic value in older adults of two mortality predictors, an attenuated heart rate recovery and impaired functional capacity.
