A choice-based diffusion model for multiple generations of products
Article Abstract:
An integrated model, based on consumer behavior, was developed for evaluating the multiple generation of products. Unlike conventional diffusion models, the proposed framework considers all exogenous variables present in the diffusion processes, thereby generating an accurate description of the consumer behavior. The proposed model is further capable of assessing sales data, regardless of upgrade demands they contain. The model produced convincing results when applied to dynamic random access market.

Are technology diffusion processes inherently historical?
Article Abstract:
An investigation of technology transfer processes is presented. Specifically, birth-and-death processes are used to characterize thediffusion of two competing technologies in a finite market. The results obtained show that distribution in pure birth processes is a function of ex-ante parameters and initial advantages. When death occurs, however, there is 'extinction with probability one given infinite time.'
