A test of reciprocal causality for absenteeism

Article Abstract:

Absenteeism has a negative impact on job satisfaction, performance, achievement, and subsequent absence, according to a study of avoidable and uncertified absenteeism's causes and consequences. Results of the study, which involved 262 male electricity company employees, also showed that the perception of supportive supervision tends to reduce absence, but absence does not affect style of supervision.

Is there a link between family structure and women's and men's managerial career advancement?

Article Abstract:

The effect of family commitments on the careers of men and women is examined in detail. Managerial advancement appears to be linked to such commitments, hough commitments may involve employment breaks for women.

Minor illness as a legitimate reason for absence

Article Abstract:

Factor affecting whether minor illness is seen as a legitimate reaons for employees taking time off work are examined in detail, using a sample of 13,000 civil servants.
