Long-term disadvantage among elderly women: The effects of work history
Article Abstract:
The studies related to the effects of work history and other factors on the economic well-being of elderly women who had low income in midlife is presented. Findings indicate that employment in a unionized setting and the availability of a pension plan is found to have positive effect on economic well-being in old age.

State responses to the family formation goals of welfare
Article Abstract:
The policy choices that were made by states under Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) regarding marriage and family formation are discussed. It was seen that the state responses to the family formation goals were complex, reflecting multiple aspects of TANF services and rules.
