'Beyond a boundary' (of a 'field of cultural production'): Reading C.L.R. James with Bourdieu
Article Abstract:
A review on C.L.R. James' work 'Beyond a Boundary', which focuses on colonial politics, sport and his own life is presented. James felt that cricket would not be able to withstand the encroachment of the world of money and that the autonomous principle of the sport could be preserved, though he was optimistic about future of cricket as a global sport.

Liquid modernity, complexity and turbulence
Article Abstract:
The main ideas underlying the concept of liquid modernity are extended to incorporate present ideas about complexity and turbulence. It is suggested that the complexity theory might be useful in resolving the paradoxes of liquid modernity, thus the ways in which liquid modernity reminds one of the underside of contemporary existence are discussed.
