The intrametropolitan distribution of R&D activities: theory and empirical evidence
Article Abstract:
A study has been conducted to examine the factors that determine the geography of R&D laboratories within metropolitan areas using intraurban location and pricing models. Variations in property rents within metropolises were determined and analyzed in relation to an econometric analysis of R&D property rent differentials within Greater Los Angeles, CA. Results showed that access to transportation, access to buildings, access to working amenities and local regulations determine the geography of R&D laboratories.

Intersectoral point-to-point telecommunications flow: theoretical framework and empirical results
Article Abstract:
A theoretical framework that obtains information flows related to social and economic transactions was utilized to specify and estimate the intersectoral point-to-point telecommunication flows. The telecommunication demands of callers and callees is a function of the different reverse calling flows and different market prices with respect to the caller. The effects of reverse flows changes from positive to zero to negative while the effects of prices, sector sizes and distances are frequently significant.
