Cross-cultural reliability and validity of the revised conflict tactics scales: A study of university student dating couples in 17 nations
Article Abstract:
Reliability and examples are presented of validity evidence for the five CTS2 (Conflict Tactics Scales) --physical assault, physical injury, psychological aggression, sexual coercion, and negotiation to measure these aspects of the dating relationships of 7,179 students at 33 universities in 17 countries. High alpha coefficients of internal consistency and low confounding with social desirability response set have been observed.

Interactions between people within a culture can be described through a structure of social realms or spheres. One structure is forms of performance, such as following rules and artistic expression. Another is forms of organization, which includes religious ceremonies and recreation. The last is time structure, or periods reserved for social gatherings.
