Demand-threshold estimation for business activities in rural Saskatchewan
Article Abstract:
Evaluation of demand threshold estimation use on determining Saskatchewan rural economic productivity reveals that the count data technique is better than historical regression in demand-threshold estimation. The study also reveals that there is a positive relationship between that number of establishments in a community and a community population. The study also reveals that businesses can use the technique to formulate an assessment on how the community support for a new establishment and that regulators can use the technique to maximize rural economic policies.

Do exchange rates and foreign incomes matter for exports at the state level?
Article Abstract:
An examination of the implications of trade-weighted real exchange rates and foreign incomes on the sub-national economic policy level shows an increasing support for the dismissal of such trade-weighted policies on the subnational level. A better index is the use of state-specific trade weights which is better both in forecasting and economic analysis.
