Disability rights today; how far have we come?
Article Abstract:
Issues regarding the victories in the disability rights area and the work that still remains to be done are argued.With its Sutton trilogy, the US Supreme Court has weakened the analogy between the ADA and other civil rights statutes. A major unresolved issue for the ADA is Congress's power to authorize lawsuits seeking to remedy violations at the state level.

Not a bad IDEA: discipline and due process get a fair hearing
Article Abstract:
A "zero tolerance" policy for behavior problems of handicapped children is claimed and the argument is made that the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act amendments highlight the duty of schools to see problem behavior as both an educational matter and a way of preventing discipline.
