Effects of incentive size and timing on response rates to a follow-up wave of a longitudinal mailed survey

A study on longitudinal survey response rates by young adults indicates the relative effects of incentive magnitude and response timing. Characteristics of nonresponders and nonresponders are compared in the areas of gender, ethnicity, and social conformity.
