Going to market: a comparative study of Russian and Romanian marketing managers
Article Abstract:
A survey of 80 Russian and 79 Romanian marketing executives was carried out to evaluate the impact on and reactions of state enterprises, joint stock firms and private companies to market economy forces. The poll found that ownership structure is a determinant of how managers perceive and adjust to market forces in Romania more than in Russia. Likewise, differences between the two groups suggest that Romanian enterprises have an edge over their Russian counterpart.

Developing and testing a theory of management transformation from planned to market economy: the case of Russia
Article Abstract:
A theory on the change of an economy from a central-planning type to a market-driven one is discussed using the case of post-Soviet Russia as an example. The economic restructuring of Russia can be analyzed via three procedural stages. The first involves gathering information from Russian marketing executives via appropriate research methods. Next comes the development of the theory of economic strategy change. The formulated model is then tested.
