Artist Bruce Gilchrist's performance piece, 'Thought Conductor #2' is studied in order to explore the relationship between the author, the score, the sound in Thought Conductor #2 and John Cage's 4'33''. This relationship provides hints to the various types of presences that symbolize a performance and the different philosophies of life.

The process and field of artificial intelligence is examined with reference to the paradigm of Sense-Think-Act (STA) and its implications in the context of the humans are explored. The analysis shows that the predictions of the future try to downplay consciousness, embodied cognition and evolutionary inertia.
