Moral deliberation and political judgement: reflections on Benhabib's interactive universalism
Article Abstract:
S. Benhabib feels commitment to universality in the moral point of view depends on recognizing difference and plurality among moral agents. People become capable of making moral judgments about others' actions to the degree they can put themselves in another's place. However, in a world where concrete differences are significant, political judgment and action limit understanding of other points of view.
