My family values

Article Abstract:

The concept of family and family values should be redefined so that the families which do not fall under the conventional notion of a two-parent household can be addressed and given support by society. It is important to note, however, that the US together with South Africa do not have adequate government policies concerning family welfare. Pro-family groups are then urged to work for programs that would strengthen the security of each type of family, rather than the stereotyped minority.

The HIV pandemic still deserves the best from us

Article Abstract:

The recent decline in AIDS incidences and the continued decline in AIDS-related deaths is likely to be the result of improvements in HIV treatment, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This has led to the American public believing that the epidemic is over. However the prevalence of AIDS actually rose 11% in 1996, and the decline in new cases is not universal.

Vast majority of Americans support sexuality education

Article Abstract:

A survey of adults provided an in-depth analysis of public attitudes about sexuality in education. The major findings were that most Americans support sexuality education and feel that young people should be provided with information. It was also found that most Americans reject abstinence-only-until-marriage education that prevents young people from learning about contraception and condoms.
