National science training policy and early scientific careers in France and the United States

Article Abstract:

In view of the impact the scientific research and technically qualified labor force can have on nationEs economy, the governments tend to allocate resources for the two activities, i.e., research and training. A study comparing the recent investments of France and United States for research and training is presented and analyzed.

Evaluating the NASA small business innovation research program: preliminary evidence of a trade-off between commercialization and basic research

The Small Business Innovation Development Act requires reserving a part of the budget for funding research programs conducted by small businesses. Using the relation between commercialization and basic research, the NASA's small business innovation research program is assessed.
