Article Abstract:

An analogy is presented between the video game Pac-Man and intellectual change as modeled in sociological discourse, using as reference Randall Collins' book 'The Sociology of Philosophies.' It is posited that different interpretive schemes are swallowed up by others, much like the figures in the Pac-Man game, in jockeying for primacy in the field.
