See history as it happened: The National Archives experience highlights America's film treasures

Article Abstract:

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is a part of one of the world's largest audiovisual archives which includes 360,000 reels of both documentary and feature films. Two new venues on NARA holdings such as the William G. McGowan Theater, a premiere showcase of country's documentary films and Public Vaults, a permanent exhibition venue are set to open in September and November 2004.

Something for everyone

Article Abstract:

The National Archives are meant for every one and every age group with varied background and interests. The Public Vaults at the National Archives accommodate a variety of different learning style and the youngest visitors to these Vaults would enjoy exhibits such as 'Patent Puzzlers', a hands-on activity wherein children examine drawings and try to guess what inventions they illustrate.

National tragedy reinforces importance of vital records

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the manner in which the terrorist acts of Sep 11, 2001, destroyed organizational records at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and the role the National Archives and Records Administration is playing to assist those organizations, are examined.
