Sexuality and television advertising: an historical perspective
Article Abstract:
Depiction of sexuality through television advertising can be traced to beer and car advertisements of the 1950s, which proliferated with the growth of color television. This reached a climax in 1980 with a jeans advertisement spot by Calvin Klein company. Though sale of Calvin items sky-rocketed, there were vehement protests from consumers, and religious and social groups complaining of erosion in morality and its adverse impact on children. However, companies continue to use sex in various ways because of its proven ability to catch viewers' attention.

Article Abstract:
A slide show highlighting advertising, sexuality, and sexism based on feminist critique reveals that cultural aspects of sexuality are important areas for continuing the dominance of males over females. These areas include compulsory heterosexuality, eroticization of domination and submission, normalization of aggression, and sexualization/objectification of women. The typical depiction of women is different from men who are depicted as having strength, competence, and control. Social perception of these depictions are, however, more important.

Sexuality advice on the radio: an overview in the United States and around the world
Article Abstract:
Sexuality advice on the radio is helpful to all age groups with stress, dysfunction, and dissatisfaction. Radio shows are meant to answer callers' queries about love, sexuality, and relationships. This phenomenon started with sexuality advice columns in newspapers in the late 1800s and continued with various radio shows resulting in the formation of the Association for Media Psychology. Hosts of radio shows should maintain their integrity and possess professional credentials. Shows should be accompanied by follow-up service.
