Situational constraints on the achievement - performance relationship: a service sector study

Article Abstract:

Research investigating the relationships between work performance and job values is presented. Particular attention is given to ways in which the relationship is affected by situational constraints. It is emphasized that sales promotions increase performance levels.

Balancing work and family: a field study of multi-dimensional, multi-role work-family conflict

Article Abstract:

Work-family conflict (WFC) is an interrole conflict that results when an individual's work interferes with that person's family role. This study investigates the effectiveness of family-friendly policies in easing interrole conflicts between work and family. The results of a survey on 564 participants in varying industries regarding their company's family friendly policies and their work-family conflicts are presented.
