Sol tax and tribal sovereignty
Article Abstract:
A former curator of anthropology at the Milwaukee Public Museum recounts her first-hand experiences with American Indians that started with research about the Ho-Chunk Nation or Winnebago Indians in 1944. She has served as assistant coordinator to Sol Tax during the American Indian Chicago Conference in 1961. She also worked as an anthropological consultant for the state of Wisconsin during the establishment of the Winnebago government under the Indian Reorganization Act. She also served in the same capacity when the Milwaukee Indian Community School and Potawatomi Bingo-Casino were created.

The tundra swan

The Whistling swan is one of the most beautiful and mysterious of wild birds. Nowadays, it has the common name Tundra swan. Eskimos use their feathers for brooms, and eggs and meat for food subsistence.
