Study of population heterogeneity in innovation diffusion model: estimation based on simulated annealing

Article Abstract:

The adoption of new innovation or product by the markets has been analyzed. The anlaysis of parameter variability randomness in diffusion (PVRD) model shows two methods of data patterns i.e., the multimodal life cycle or the intervening slump cycle versus the unimodal pattern, which have been studied, in relation to homogenous and heterogenous populations using the simulated annealing technique. It is found that there are variations even in unimodal pattern because of variability in populations.
