The Shroud of Turin: a parable for modern times?
Article Abstract:
The Shroud of Turin is considered by many as a modern-day parable as it creates a variety of paradoxes regarding its very nature. Scientific evidence shows that the cloth's faint image of a man crucified and crowned with thorns was not produced by bare hands. On the other hand, radiocarbon dating results reveal the relatively young age of the cloth. This mystery should not deter Christians from maintaining their faith in God.

Pasolini and exclusion: Zizek, Agamben and the modern sub-proletariat
Article Abstract:
A combination of the reading's of Pasolini's first feature film, Accattone (1961), with an investigation into what the theory of subjectivity of Zizek and Agamben might mean for a critique of today's liberal democratic, late-capitalist hegemony are presented. An attempt is made to examine the ideological relevance of pasolini's approach to the sub-proletariat.
