The economic effects of basic research: evidence for embodied knowledge transfer via scientists' migration
Article Abstract:
Empirical findings on embodied knowledge transfers are presented that provide new evidence on the contribution of basic research to national innovative capacity. Hypothesis 1-4 support the claim that important socio-economic benefits of basic research accrue through the embodied knowledge transfers associated with scientistsE migration into the commercial sector.
