The shift to knowledge-intensive production in the plastics-processing industry and its implications for infrastructure development: three case studies - New York State, England and Israel
Article Abstract:
The plastics processing industries in New York State, the UK and Israel displayed differences following a shift to knowledge-intensive production. While all three had reorganization programs in the transition to a new manufacturing method, NY State and UK showed better results compared to their Israeli counterpart. The first two areas had better results in terms of an educated labor market, technological and marketing infrastructure, while Israel showed poor cooperation and industrial coordination.
