Time structure and purpose, Type A behavior, and the Protestant work ethic

Article Abstract:

Time structure and purpose are studied by extending the pioneering research done by M.J. Bond and N.T. Feather. Bond and Feather's Time Structure Questionnaire's (TSQ) validity was potentially threatened by the results of their findings which reported positive relationships between Type A behavior and five time structure components and orthogonal relationships with the Protestant work ethic. The results showed that five of six TSQ components are linked to the achievement-oriented side of Type A behavior, affirming the value of time structure and purpose in organizational behavior.

Profiles of commitment: an empirical test

Article Abstract:

A set of commitment profiles was constructed. Results indicate four profiles of commitment such as locally committed, globally committed, committed and uncommitted. These profiles underline eight premises which are organization-related identification and internalization, supervisor-related identification and internalization, work-group-related identification and internalization, normative commitment to top management and overall compliance.
