To salvage Neurath
Article Abstract:
The book 'Otto Neurath: Philosophy Between Science and Politics' by Nancy Cartwright, Jordi Cat, Lola Fleck and Thomas E. Uebel is analyzed. Philosopher Otto Neurath believed that science was empirical although observation reports were uncertain. He advocated the conventionalist philosophy of Pierre Duhem by rejecting demands for empirical foundations of theories. He also described Popper's view of scientific theories as pseudo-rationalist.

Article Abstract:
Ian Hacking bravely uses 'nominalism' idiosyncratically within ontologies without explaining it or its qualifier. This idea is found to be a proposal, rather than a theory, much less an ontological theory, as it does not say what things are made of and are often misleading.
