Toward a typological theory of project management
Article Abstract:
Project management theory has not devised a typology of projects and their management styles, in contrast to innovation theory's categorization of innovation as either incremental or radical. To facilitate the identification of projects exhibiting considerable variation in terms of their purpose and management styles, a two-dimensional typology of projects is proposed using quantitative and qualitative methods.
