Twilight losing sight, gaining insight

Article Abstract:

The feelings of disbelief, helplessness, and insecurity leading to depression, following the loss of vision in old age are described. The aim is to advise therapists to be more patient, tolerant and put across the positive message that hope is still possible.

Age-related changes in perception of flavor and aroma

Article Abstract:

The dilution or alteration of the perception of flavor and aroma are commonly accompanied with the arrival of old age. The changes in the taste and smell, chemosensory perceptions, which are thought to cause the above conditions, are discussed.
