Who's afraid of life extension?

Article Abstract:

The anti-aging medicine and life-technology as a contribution to an ideological crisis for gerontology is examined. It is suggested that the crisis will intensify in the twenty-first century with an increasing availability of these medicines.

Is there an 'anti-aging' medicine?

The credibility of anti-aging medicines is examined. The negative attitude about normal aging inculcated by the proponents of anti-aging medicines is also highlighted.
