Trends in transnational terrorism and implications for U.S. national security and U.S. Terrorism Risk Insurance Act
Article Abstract:
The renewal of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) has provided for a viable financial recovery in case of terror strikes, but this Act is not relevant to the type of extremist contingencies that the U.S. is likely to face in view of the nature and scope of a rapidly evolving terrorist phenomenon. It is necessary to both extend and expand TRIA if it is to provide a viable system of terrorist-related financial security.

Virtual disputes: The use of the Internet for terrorist debates
Article Abstract:
Terrorists are using the Internet for purposes that go beyond mere propaganda such as raising funds, recruiting and training, inciting violence and planning attacks. Examples of virtual debates among and within terrorists groups are provided and analysis of these could reveal much about the mindset of terrorists that in turn would help in forming effective counterterrorism measures.
