Age at return marriage and timing of first birth in India's Uttar Pradesh and Kerala states

Article Abstract:

The age at marriage influences the timing of first birth of a child, as shown by analysis of birth intervals in two Indian states. Other socioeconomic influences were controlled, and differences were found between the two states, with one state having a longer birth interval. These results are relevant to fecundity measures for populations lacking birth control.
