Al Qaida recruitment trends in Kenya and Tanzania
Article Abstract:
Many East African countries are potentially rich environments to attract new Al Qaida members as they have substantial Muslim populations, widespread poverty, inadequate border control and systematic political and economic corruption. Kenya and Tanzania remain promising lands of the global campaign against Al Qaida due to lack of professional, modern police forces committed to public service and respected by all the sectors of society.

Aum Shinrikyo's biological weapons program: why did it fail?
Article Abstract:
This article examines Aum Shinrikyo's attempt at biological warfare on a Tokyo subway in 1995. The author argues the religious cult invested time, financial resources, and had the motivation, as well as the personnel, but concludes the attack failed because biological warfare is much more difficult to carry out than as portrayed by the media and government.
