Correlates of physical violence in marital relationships among first-generation Korean Americans

Article Abstract:

A study aims to examine if a model exists explaining partner abuse from perceptual measures, together with demographic measures among 223 Korean immigrants. The reports indicated that there is a correlation between age, income, education and other sociodemograhic characteristics and domestic violence.

Comparing the policy response to violence against women in the USA and South Korea

Article Abstract:

A comparison providing social work and research implications between the Violence against Women Act of U.S. and the Protection Act of South Korea is presented. The U.S. advocated for state-level policy changes whereas the South Korea advocated the non-interventionism stance of the national government.

Marital conflict and social support of Korean immigrants in the United States

Article Abstract:

The relationship between marital conflict and social support in Korean immigrants is studied. Both the cultural values of male dominance and life stress are major factors in marital conflict and social support has an important role in reducing its incidence.
