Comparison of new alcohol use test, the Helsinki alcohol use test questionnaire, and alcohol use disorders identification test and laboratory larkers serum gamma-glutamyl transferase and carbohydrate-deficient transferrin

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to compare and evaluate the new Helsinki alcohol use test (HAUT) and alcohol use disorders identification test (AUDIT) as screening instrument in the general working population. Results indicate that the HAUT has good performance as screening instrument for alcohol-related problems in the general population.

The shorter PROMIS questionnaire: further validation of a tool for simultaneous assessment of multiple addictive behaviours

Article Abstract:

This article assesses the reliability of the PROMIS questionnaire in diagnosing multiple addictive behaviors. The authors conclude the questionnaire is a clinically useful tool in that it provides a broad assessment of addictive behaviors and benefits the treatment provider and patient.

Covariation in addictive behaviours: a study of addictive orientations using the shorter PROMIS Questionanaire

Article Abstract:

The importance of a division between "hedonistic" and "nurturant" addictions, with the need for further subdivisions is verified using factor and cluster analyses. The results indicate that different addictions illustrate contrasting techniques of interpersonal manipulation.
