Completion of advance directives: do social work preadmission interviews make a difference?

Article Abstract:

A study was carried out to find out the efficacy of preadmission, educational interview on advance directives mainly in health care proxies given to few orthopedic patients. Results showed that there was a statistically higher probability that a patient would sign a health care proxy if given to the treatment group rather than if given to the comparison condition.

The impact of short-term counseling at a domestic violence shelter

Article Abstract:

A study to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment meted out to women at domestic violence shelters is conducted. Results indicate that such shelters, along with other services are useful coupled with counseling in helping abused women.
