Eliminating automatic racial bias: Making race non-diagnostic for responses to criminal suspects

Article Abstract:

An approach for eliminating automatic bias is proposed by repeatedly exposing people to social stimuli where group membership is unrelated to stereotypicality. A computer program that was completed by participants where they pretended they were police officers and decided as quickly as possible whether to shoot at African American and White suspects is presented along with its results.

Minority influence in work teams: the impact of newcomers

Article Abstract:

Little attention has been paid to social dynamics of work teams where minority-newcomers suggest changes in the team's work practices. Three-person teams (a commander and two subordinates) using a computer-based air-surveillance system to monitor planes flying through a simulated airspace is studied.
