Article Abstract:

Nancy Fraser's book, 'Justice Interruptus: Critical Reflections on the Postsocialist Conditions,' is a compilation of 10 published essays on uncertainties regarding the possibilities for social change. The condition is described by the absence of believable alternative to the status quo, the replacement of class politics with identity politics and multiculturalism and emergence of neoliberalism. A model, which included recognition and redistribution solutions and affirmation and transformation remedies, was also suggested to streamline the problem of recognition-redistribution.

Article Abstract:

Erik Olin Wright's book, 'Class Counts: Comparative Studies in Class Analysis,' presents an 'employment aggregate' perspective on class analysis. The approach separates workers into classes using an appropriate class scheme. Three levels of analysis were suggested, namely, the macro, meso and micro levels of analysis. The analysis is parallel to the biological concept of the human body where the organs are not simply viewed as the summation of the parts.

It also discussed the unstable links that associate classes.
