Helping parents reduce children's television viewing

Article Abstract:

The effort to develop and test technologies and strategies to reduce the level of television viewing among children is described. A research team at DePaul University has developed several procedures to wean children off television by using simple electronic principles and behavior modification.

Validating school social work: an evaluation of a cognitive-behavioral approach to reduce school violence

Article Abstract:

Research on cognitive therapy for students is presented, focusing on reduction of school violence. Data supports the theory that cognitive therapy is more effective than nonspecific counseling in lowering the incidence of violence, due to components such as anger control training.
