How does childbearing affect fertility motivations and desires?
Article Abstract:
Childbearing increases the desire to have more children. Childbearing variables have a great influence on two types of fertility motivation and three types of fertility desires. A study conducted on couples indicates that pregnancy initially satisfies the desire to have more children but subsequently turns on the desire again. The childbearing desire is turned off after the second child in some respondents and is dependent on the desired family size. Three different mechanisms, a negative motivation mechanism, a delay mechanism, and a satiation mechanism affect childbearing.

Phosphoglucomutase genetic polymorphism and human fertility
Article Abstract:
Phosphoglucomutase has an influence on human fertility and the survival of zygotes, as shown by a study of 204 mothers. Women of Phenotype One had less reproduction and more abortions, indicating a relation between age and phenotype. A relation was also found between age, phenotype, intrauterine growth of the fetus and duration of gestation.
