How much does Russia drink? Volume, dynamics, and differentiation of alcohol consumption

Article Abstract:

The scale and dynamics of alcohol consumption in Russia is presented by examining the volume, structure, dynamics and differentiation of alcohol consumption by the people of the Russian Federation as well as the social and demographic aspects of immoderate alcohol consumption. Results show that alcohol abuse takes place in all social environments, its level of prevalence is not all the same, and gender is the strongest factor in differentiation of alcohol consumption.

The ecological situation through the eyes of the Russians

Article Abstract:

The ecological situation in many regions of Russia is far from satisfactory which is seen in the deterioration of health, sense of social well-being and consumption structure, giving rise to social and ecological conflicts. Studies carried out by the Russian Center for Public Opinion Research (VTsIOM) reveal that the Russians are very much aware of the urgency of the ecological problem that poses a serious problem in their lives.
