How to get megabits at 10,000 volts
Article Abstract:
Electric current is transmitted at low frequencies (10 to 490 kHz), data running at higher frequencies (1to 30 MHz) can travel through the internet-ready copper wiring, which exists in virtually every building in U.S., and if a modem is plugged to the wall socket and connected to a USB or Ethernet, port can go online. This technology of broadband over power lines called BPL will accelerate the availability of high-speed net access that reaches about 38% of internet users.
