Article Abstract:

Analysis of the modifications in inheritance laws during 1961-90 to establish the changing trends reveals that states reform their laws in line with the law community's Uniform Probate Code. The implications for older households in reducing family disputes, preserving assets, and enabling better property division are discussed.
