Invisible women: Herbert Ross' Boys on the Side puts HIV/AIDS and women in their place
Article Abstract:
The experiences of women living with HIV/AIDS have barely registered a blip on the television and movie screens as a consequence these early silences have extracted a high cost in women's lives is discussed. While the stories of men suffering with HIV/AIDS continue to find their way to media and most recently to HBO studios, women with the disease are virtually nonexistent.

The relationship between work, care and gender equality on a theoretical level to develop multifaceted and dynamic models both within a country, as well as cross-nationally is explored. The practices about working time for unpaid and paid work in households and family and social policies are examined.
