Is it really racism? The origins of White Americans' opposition to race-targeted policies
Article Abstract:
Empirical comparisons on several current racial attitudes were conducted to determine the effects of racism on present-day politics. The general perspective is focused on the symbolic politics theory which suggests that the long-standing discriminating attitudes of white Americans marked their socializing culture towards African Americans. Findings reveal the significant role of racism in political preferences which include racial policy preferences.
