Lying to tell the truth: journalists and the social context of deception
Article Abstract:
A study was done to describe the reasons for the use of deception by the journalists and to understand that a journalistic deception is not confined to newsgathering practices. The study revealed that journalistic deception was socially and contextually forged by a complex interplay of values and norms central to American journalism and its culture.

Diverging discourses: Gender differences in televised golf announcing
Article Abstract:
Comparison with the findings in 9 seminal studies of sports announcing showed that golf commentary is distinctively different from other types of sports commentary. The results counter the previously identified female stereotype of implied physical weakness, while potentially exemplifying a newer stereotype of female golfers achieving.

Exploring the characteristics of DVD home theater system adopters
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to examine the growing DVD home theater phenomenon by mapping the characteristics of DVD home theater adopters and their attitudes toward the new technology. An attempt is made to locate and differentiate DVD adopters based on patterns of media use, utilities from gratification, socialization and displacement.
